At Tech Spark, we value the privacy of our visitors. This purpose of this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is to inform users of our Site of the following:

  • The personal data we will collect;
  • Use of collected data;
  • Our network security practices;
  • Who has access to the data collected;
  • The rights of Site users; and
  • The Site’s cookie policy.

This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site.

Consent

By using our Site, the users agree that they consent to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy.

When the legal basis for us processing your personal data is that you have provided your consent to that processing, you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, it will not make any process that we completed before you withdrew your consent unlawful.

You can withdraw your consent by contacting Spark Plug Support at support@sparkplug.tech.

Personal Data We Collect

We only collect data that helps us achieve the purpose set out in this Privacy Policy. We will not collect any additional data beyond what is listed below without notifying you first.

Data Collected Automatically

When you visit and use our Site, we may automatically collect and store the following information:

  • IP Address
  • Location
  • Date
  • Hardware and Software Details; and
  • Clicked Links

Spark Plug follows a standard procedure of collecting such information in log files. Such files are not linked to any personally identifiable information (PII).

Data Collected in a Non-Automatic Way

When creating an account to use our Site, we collect the following PII from adult users:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Mobile phone number (if used for multi-factor authentication)

We may also collect optional, non-PII demographic information supplied by any user of the Site.

How We Use Personal Data

The data collected on our Site will only be used for analyzing trends, administering and securing the Site, tracking users’ movement on the Site, and reporting aggregate demographic information.

Who We Share Personal Data With

Employees and Contractors

We may disclose user data to select employees and/or contractors who reasonably need access to user data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Other Disclosures

We will not sell or share your data with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • If the law requires it;
  • If it is required for any legal process;
  • To prove or protect our legal rights; and
  • To buyers or potential buyers of Tech Spark if we seek to sell the company.

If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another website, we are not responsible for and have no control over their content, privacy policies, and privacy practices.

How Long We Store Personal Data

Personal user data will be stored indefinitely unless the user requests deletion.

How We Protect Your Data

Our network security practices at Tech Spark include:

  • Encrypting all data at rest and in transit and rotating system encryption keys.
  • Hashing the PII we keep, which means that if our encryption keys are compromised, attackers will not be able to use the data.
  • Limiting the ability to gain access to user accounts by enforcing a strong password policy and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all login accounts.
  • Limiting the ability of user login accounts to gain administrator powers by enforcing privilege access management (PAM) policies.
  • Limiting certain types of administrators actions by IP address.
  • Limiting data access to select employees and contractors of Tech Spark Canada via PAM policies.
  • Using our cloud provider tools to keep our systems patched, monitor network traffic and behavior, scan access logs, scan for vulnerabilities, and protect application configuration information.

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, 100% network security is impossible and the risk of attack is always present. The Internet can be insecure at times and therefore, we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

International Data Transfers

We transfer all data to Canada. When we transfer PII, we will protect that data as described in this Privacy Policy under Canadian law.

Children

Adding protection for children while using the internet is a priority. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Spark Plug does not knowingly collect or use any PII from children under the age of 17. If we learn that we have collected PII from a child under the age of 17, the personal data will be deleted as soon as possible. If you believe your child provided this kind of information on our Site, please contact us immediately at support@sparkplug.tech and we will remove such information from our systems.

Cookie Policy

We do not use cookies on our Site.

Modifications

This Privacy Policy may be amended to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. When we amend this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. We recommend that our users periodically review our Privacy Policy to ensure that they are notified of any updates. If necessary, we may notify users by email of changes to this Privacy Policy.
